This paper investigates the key elements that contribute to visual impact in poster design, emphasizing the roles of typography, imagery, colour, composition, and time management in achieving communicative effectiveness. It examines how these design components interact to capture attention, convey messages, and engage diverse audiences across contexts. Drawing on a qualitative, literature-based approach, the study synthesizes theoretical perspectives from visual communication, design aesthetics, and persuasive media to identify strategies that enhance the expressive and functional value of poster design. The findings highlight that colour psychology, typographic clarity, visual hierarchy, and compositional balance are essential determinants of audience perception and message retention. The study argues that visual impact in poster design extends beyond aesthetic appeal to embody strategic communication, where every element, textual or visual, serves a persuasive purpose. The paper further underscores the need for designers to integrate creativity with clarity, maintaining cultural and contextual awareness in visual representation. Recommendations are provided for designers, educators, and organizations seeking to improve poster communication through evidence-based design practices. Finally, the study proposes areas for further research, including digital adaptation, cross-media integration, and the influence of technological innovation on poster-based visual communication.
