Abstract

This paper seeks to interrogate the problem of oil politics and nationhood in the Niger Delta leveraging on the subaltern strand of postcolonial theory. Peter Omoko’s Crude Nightmen (2015) and Stephen Kekeghe’s Pond of Leeches (2015) are used in evaluating the thematic indices. The paper concludes that until there is an equitable and fair distribution of the wealth of the people, peace and development cannot take place in the region.
